Yorkshire 10m TT Championships a success!

The champs were held on the 'lumpy' tough V212 course near Boroughbridge (it's the old A1), with the HQ being in Great Ouseburn. There were loads of categories, including many Vet age categories. The rider who posted the fastest ride on the day from all categories received the Yorkshire Velo 'Glass' Trophy. For the last two years Wayne Randle has won this trophy (ex International roadman, winner of big British events - noted 'Northern hard man!') -  but despite posting a very fast time of 20.30 he was well beaten by up and coming Triathlete, Philip Graves, who posted a new course record 20.02 and won the Espoir (U23) category!

The weekend also featured the District GHS heats, which is a National competition for U16 riders. It's a good competition to spot talent - Chris Boardman won the National GHS title in 1984.

Mike Smith from Eurosport hosted the prize presentation, each category winner received a Champions Jersey along with a Gold medal. Runners-up received Silver and Bronze. The medals are specially commissioned for the championships, are designed by event organiser Richmond Denton and based on the shape of a jockey wheel!

Magnus Backstedt, in conjunction with Company Z Ltd, donated a signed jersey for the event raffle, which raised £130 for the selected charities.
